“As far as we know, people arriving [in Lithuania] do register, fill in the required forms and have QR codes. Based on those numbers of people who cross the border by various modes of transport, we think that this situation is under control,” she told reporters on Friday morning.

Simonyte reminded that all people arriving in Lithuania should present a negative COVID-19 test, self-isolate and test for coronavirus repeatedly thereafter.

The government on Friday decided to reinstate restrictions on movement between municipalities until April 6 in a bid to contain the spread of more dangerous UK and South African coronavirus strains.
