The summer-time period will last until late October.

Lithuania’s officials hoped last year that the practice of changing time two times a year would be ended in the near time but efforts to convince European partners to stop this practice have not yet borne fruit even though both the European Commission and the European Parliament support the idea to end time-switching twice a year.

The time is changed in an effort to make better use of daylight, however, critics maintain that switching between times can harm health.
