Also, the vaccination order will change once mass rollout starts as people will need to register themselves to get the jab, the Kauno Diena daily writes.

"When we will start mass vaccination, we will have general registration of all residents, irrespective of their age – 45 or 21. All people will be able to register for a jab visit by logging onto the esveikata.lt portal. If there are no free slots, people will need to wait. Those who don’t use computers or don’t know how to register online will be able to do so by calling vaccination centers," Lukas Galkus, a specialist from the Health Ministry said.

In his words, once over 65-year-olds are vaccinated, then younger people and those with underlying issues will be vaccinated.

"Later on, mass vaccination will start. The ministry has not made any decision yet on dividing mass vaccination time into any age groups. All people who will want to get the jab, will be able to register and get vaccinated," Galkus said, asked about the vaccination of around 1.79 million people under the age of 65.

In his words, mass vaccination could start in late spring, around May, but everything will depend on vaccine deliveries and the vaccine take-up in the priority groups, i.e., those over the age of 65 and, later on, people with chronic diseases.
