Some 18,433 candidates have picked this foreign language exam this year.

A total of 27,733 school-leavers will sit for graduation exams in the spring, 521 fewer than during the last academic year.

17,207 candidates have chosen to take a state Lithuanian language and literature exam, 29 more than last year. And 9,352 will take its school-level version.

16,857 candidates will sit for a state mathematics exam, 254 more than last year, and 8,554 will take a state history exam, 388 fewer than last year.

6,496 school-leavers will take a state biology exam, 344 more than last year. 3,476 will take a state geography exam, 2,589 will take a state physics exam, 2,582 will take a state IT exam, and 1,374 will take a state chemistry exam.

Also 741 school-leavers will take an exam of the Polish language as their mother tongue. 323 school-leavers will take an exam of the Russian language as their mother tongue, and 45 school-leavers will take an exam of the Belarusian language as their mother tongue.

School-leavers were supposed to pick their exams by November 24 and were able to make adjustments by December 2.

The main session of state graduation exams is scheduled to begin on April 7-9.
