Registration is still ongoing and will be finished at different times in different countries. If a person chooses to vote at a diplomatic representation, they can also register on the election day.

For the first time in history, Lithuanian living abroad, who up until now voted for candidates standing for election in Vilnius' Naujamiestis constituency, will vote for candidates standing for election in a special single-member constituency for world Lithuanians.

Under the law adopted by the Seimas, a special single-member constituency for Lithuanian citizens is established for voting abroad during a general election, if during the last election at Lithuanian embassies and consular establishments, the number of voters exceeded 0.9 percent of the average number of voters in all single-member constituencies.

Over 16,000 people voted in the 2016 Seimas election abroad.

Lithuanian will elect a new parliament on October 11.
