Morawiecki is scheduled to visit Lithuania on September 17, Tomas Berzinskas, a spokesman to Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, has confirmed to BNS.

Lithuania and Poland have lately been actively supporting the Belarusian opposition protesting against Alexander Lukashenko's regime, and the governments have been carrying out joint energy and infrastructure projects.

Investments by Poland's oil group Orlen in the Mazeikiai crude refinery are important for Lithuania, too.

The visit can be politically useful for Skvernelis, who has named the improvement of relations with Poland as one of his key achievements, in the run-up to the October 11 parliamentary election.
