"There's no need for that now, but if we reached (...) at least 16 cases per 100,000 population, then I think we would return to the requirement to wear masks," he told BNS.

The minister said facemasks would initially be reintroduced in public transport, shops and mass gatherings.

The average incidence of COVID-19 in Lithuania currently is 1.9 cases per 100,000 people.
